 The American Heart Association BLS Provider (formerly known as BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers) Certification Course is designed for healthcare professionals who need training on how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Course content includes:

Critical concepts of high-quality CPR

The American Heart Association Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components

1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant

2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant

Use of an AED

Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques

Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant

Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant

Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR

Relief of choking for adult, child and infant

CPR with an advanced airway

Healthcare providers that are typically required to take this course are physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician’s assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel.

Textbook Policy: The American Heart Association requires each student to have access to their own current AHA BLS Provider student Manual prior to, during and after the BLS/CPR course. If you do not have access to a Provider Manual, you MIGHT purchase one through us. If you order a Provider Manual through us, it will be provided on the day of class.
